Ale Moreno says there isn’t a player more suited to the Premier League and to Newcastle United than Inter star Nicolo Barella.
To the excitement of the Toon Army faithful, rumours broke on Wednesday that Eddie Howe’s side are closing in on a stunning ‘£50 million’ swoop for the Italy international.
For USA-based pundit Moreno, he stated that Nicolo Barella was ‘built for this moment’ and he would bring ‘added value’ to Newcastle United, as he told ESPN.
It has been obvious for a while that the Magpies have been looking for added creativity in the middle of the park, that’s why there has been long-term interest in James Maddison.
Imagine if the Saudi-owned club manage to secure the talents of both of them? That would be a serious statement of intent, that’s for sure.
But, for now, Barella’s name is the one doing the rounds, and for Moreno, he backed a move to St James’ Park for a player that has been ‘outstanding’ for Inter.
“If indeed Nicolo Barella is a target for Newcastle and if it did work out for Newcastle,” said Moreno. “I couldn’t put together a player that was more built for the moment, the occasion, the team and the league, than Nicolo Barella.
“He has been outstanding with Inter. I think he would bring a different identity, a different type of intensity, urgency and a different type of quality to Newcastle.
“He would be added value, not only to Newcastle but for the Premier League as well.”

Barella is the Champions League quality Newcastle need
The club have been playing this one calmy for the past few transfer windows and those logical calls are now working wonders for them.
This would fall into that category, and the fact that they would be securing the talents of a player who is proven in the Champions League, is even better.
It ended in heartache, but Barella has just come off helping Inter reach the Champions League final, only for them to get beaten by Treble-winning Manchester City.
