Newcastle United want Tosin Adarabioyo and are turning to the Fulham defender as they seek new signings for Eddie Howe’s back line.

The Magpies signed Dan Burn in January but they continue to be linked with other central defenders.

Lille star Sven Botman is the top target but he is left-footed just like Burn, so right-footers are being eyed up too.

The likes of Merih Demiral and Roger Ibanez have been linked with that role but Newcastle could now look a little closer to home.

Newcastle United want Tosin Adarabioyo

Newcastle are now turning their attention towards Fulham central defender Adarabioyo.

The Mirror claim that Newcastle are looking to pounce for Adarabioyo as he has just one year left on his Fulham contract.

Fulham will want to keep Adarabioyo but if he doesn’t agree a new contract soon, they may be better off selling now.

That’s certainly what Newcastle are hoping for and they may hope to secure a bargain deal for Adarabioyo.

Adarabioyo stands at a huge 6ft 5in tall and could form a mountainous partnership with Burn in the heart of the Newcastle back line.

The 24-year-old may not be as high-profile as some of the other centre backs on the Newcastle wish list, but he has certainly excelled for Fulham.

Hailed as ‘exceptional’ by his former Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola, Adarabioyo was a hot prospect at the Etihad Stadium.

Yet with his pathway to first-team football blocked, Adarabioyo chose to leave City for guaranteed minutes at Fulham.

Now a key player for the Cottagers and absolutely vital in their promotion-winning season, Adarabioyo is becoming a quality defender.

Newcastle now hope to lure Adarabioyo up to St James’ Park having also shown a keen interest in the giant defender back in December.
