Shaka Hislop says Newcastle United ‘aren’t going to be spending’ money on players such as England superstar, Jude Bellingham.
It was put to the former goalkeeper, as to why Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United aren’t in the race for players like Jude Bellingham ahead of the summer transfer window.
Even though the Magpies were smoked 3-0 by Unai Emery’s Aston Villa on Saturday, they are still in charge and big favourites to return to Champions League football next season.

Back in the summer, they broke their club-record transfer for Alexander Isak, who joined for £63 million (Sky Sports) and you can bet your bottom dollar they will go again.
But Hislop made it clear that it won’t be Bellingham – previously dubbed a ‘generational talent’, even though he was asked why they aren’t looking to sign him, as he told ESPN.
“Newcastle aren’t going to spend that kind of money on players,” said Hislop. “The bulk of the budget is earmarked for developing their training ground. They aren’t going to be spending.
“They aren’t spending all the money in the world on players. I have just said that.”

CHAMPIONS LEAGUE QUALITY PLAYERS
The aim for Newcastle this season was to go all-out for a cup and try to get into Europe.
That League Cup final defeat to Manchester United was hard to take, but they are ahead of themselves if they finish in the top four in May.
If they get over that line, and their weekend game against fifth-placed Tottenham is huge, then it will be interesting to see who they splash their cash on.
