Eddie Howe’s Newcastle United now have the same doubts over Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin as Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to The Daily Mail.
Newcastle United and Arsenal doubts over Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The Daily Mail have reported that Newcastle are interested in signing Calvert-Lewin from Premier League rivals Everton in the summer transfer window.
The report has added that there are some at Newcastle who have ‘doubts’ over ‘the form and fitness of the 25-year-old last season’.
Interestingly, Newcastle’s doubts over the England international striker are similar to those at Arsenal.
On May 24, The Athletic reported that some at Arsenal have concerns over Calvert-Lewin ‘after a difficult season due to injury and poor form’.
The Sun reported in February 2022 that Everton value the striker at £60 million.

Stats
Calvert-Lewin was able to make only 15 starts and two substitute appearances in the Premier League last season due to his injury problems.
The Everton no. 9 scored five goals and gave two assists in those games.
Calvert-Lewin scored 16 goals in 32 Premier League starts for the Toffees in 2020-21, and scored 13 goals in 30 league starts in 2019-20.
The Everton striker may have had a disappointing campaign last season, but he is still a very good player.
