Newcastle United have had a second bid for Dan Burn rejected by Brighton and Hove Albion, according to The Athletic.

The Athletic have reported that Newcastle have made a second offer of £10 million for the defender.

Eddie Howe’s side’s first bid for Burn was £8 million.

Brighton turned it down, and the Seagulls have rejected Newcastle’s second bid for the 29-year-old central defender as well.

The Sun have reported that Brighton are looking for £15 million as transfer fee to sell Burn.

The Telegraph have reported that Burn grew up a Newcastle fan and wants to move to St. James’ Park.

Newcastle should pay £5m extra needed for Dan Burn

In our view, if £5 million more is all that Newcastle need to bring Burn to St. James’ Park in the January transfer window, then they should pay it.

We do not think that there is any point in the Magpies trying to come to a compromise with Brighton over the transfer fee.

Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF) are wealthy, and if Howe thinks that Burn will help his side escape the dreaded drop to the Championship at the end of the season, then they should get it done.
