Newcastle United want Leandro Trossard and are planning to make contact over a potential deal before the January window.

The player in question is Brighton and Hove Albion star Trossard.
90Min reported earlier in October that Newcastle are rivalling Chelsea in the race to sign Brighton ace Trossard.
The Northern Echo now add that Newcastle are preparing to lodge a first enquiry for Trossard in advance of the transfer window.
Newcastle seemingly don’t want to leave it until January to start their move given that other clubs are keen.
That will ultimately mean Dan Ashworth negotiating with his former club to try and and do a deal.
Newcastle raided Brighton for defender Dan Burn in January before then returning to land technical director Ashworth.
Trossard could make it three with Newcastle now ready to make their push for the in-form attacker.
Trossard will likely head to the World Cup with Belgium but a move away could come into focus once he returns.
The 27-year-old has been outstanding this season, bagging seven goals and one assist in just 12 games.
Trossard hit a hat-trick against Liverpool at Anfield before then adding goals against Manchester City and Chelsea in Brighton’s last two games.
Capable of playing up front, out wide, behind a striker and even as a wing back, Trossard offers frankly incredible versatility.
Newcastle will likely see Trossard as a winger though, no doubt aware that Allan Saint-Maximin’s injury problems leave them short of quality on the left.
Rio Ferdinand has hailed Trossard as ‘unreal’ and it now seems that Brighton are about to receive a call or two from Newcastle about a big January move.
