Newcastle United boss Eddie Howe is backing a move for Dean Henderson as the Manchester United goalkeeper considers his future this summer.
The Magpies will be active in the transfer market with PIF’s financial backing and a host of players will be linked.
It seems that Newcastle may be in the market for a new goalkeeper, especially with Karl Darlow heavily linked with a move away.
Thomas Strakosha and Bernd Leno are two names that have been mentioned for that role, but the name that won’t go away is Dean Henderson.
The Manchester United stopper was heavily linked in January and is thought to be keen on joining Newcastle should the possibility arise.

A loan deal didn’t quite materialise in January but that doesn’t mean the pursuit is over.
Far from it in fact as The Sunday Mirror (15/05, p78) claim that Newcastle are ramping up their interest in signing Henderson.
Eddie Howe allegedly believes that Henderson is the perfect goalkeeper to come in and take over from Martin Dubravka.
Henderson is allegedly valued at around £20million is willing to leave United this summer unless there are big promises from Erik ten Hag.
Henderson wants first-team football and would need to be told that he’s ahead of David De Gea in order to stay.

That seems very unlikely given that De Gea has enjoyed a fine season for United this term.
Henderson may therefore need to move on and Newcastle could give him the playing time he wants.
It’s easy to forget just how good Henderson was during his loan spell at Sheffield United, the last time he had regular starts in the league.
Henderson was hailed as ‘exceptional’ by teammate Sander Berge and many expected him to really kick on.
That just hasn’t happened though as Henderson has been stuck on the United bench for most of the season.
If Newcastle can convince United to sell, Henderson may well jump at the chance to be their first-choice goalkeeper for years to come.
