Newcastle United could still make a move for Manchester United goalkeeper Dean Henderson after missing out on a January deal.
That’s according to the Daily Mail, who claim that Henderson was left disappointed that a January move to Newcastle didn’t come to fruition.
Newcastle were seeking a loan deal and a swap was allegedly suggested by United involving Martin Dubravka – but Newcastle said no.
Eddie Howe may have played down Dubravka being offered to United, but didn’t rule out Henderson to Newcastle.
Henderson is still keen on joining Newcastle though and is seemingly hoping that a summer move can be put together after all.
Arsenal goalkeeper Bernd Leno is on Newcastle’s radar too, but Henderson is likely to be a very attractive proposition to the Magpies.
Henderson, 24, has struggled for first-team football at United and is seemingly stuck behind David De Gea at Old Trafford.
Henderson is understandably interested in leaving United, especially having been so, so good on loan at Sheffield United for two years.
Praised as ‘insane’ and ‘exceptional’ by then-Blades teammate Sander Berge, Henderson needs first-team action to get back to that level.

It seemingly isn’t going to come at United, and Newcastle make sense as a potential landing spot for Henderson either on loan por permanently.
If Newcastle stay up, they will be seeking signings with immediate Premier League quality whilst still having some potential for the future too.
Henderson fits the bill, especially after Newcastle focused on players who know the Premier League in Kieran Trippier, Chris Wood, Dan Burn and Matt Targett.
Henderson ticks the boxes for Newcastle, and with the goalkeeper seemingly disappointed to miss out on a move to the Magpies in January, the door may be open for Newcastle to swoop in and get him in the summer.
