
Newcastle United have indicated to the agents of Marseille attacker Bamba Dieng that a deal could be done before Monday’s transfer deadline.
That’s according to The Express, who claim that Dieng has been the source too talks involving various Premier League clubs.
It’s stated that Newcastle have communicated with Dieng’s representatives to state that they’re still interested in a late transfer.
Newcastle aren’t alone though. It’s claimed that West Ham, Crystal Palace and Brighton have all make contact too.
After all, Dieng came through the Diambars academy in Senegal, which was founded by none other than Patrick Vieira, the current Palace boss.
Marseille are believed to be seeking around £15million for Dieng, but may go as low as £10million before the deadline.
That’s kind of calculated punt Newcastle may look to secure having already landed an experienced striker in Chris Wood.
Dieng, 21, has been impressive this season with four goals in 14 league games for Marseille, playing up front or down the left flank.
Dieng has bean away with Senegal this month after picking up a red card in his most recent Marseille game.

With a goal against Cape Verde on Tuesday, Dieng helped Senegal to a 2-0 win and now has a real shot at silverware.
Things could get even better for Dieng with a late January transfer a real possibility as Newcastle chase last-gasp additions.
Earlier this month, Sky Sports claimed that Newcastle were offered the chance to sign Dieng, who has been dubbed the new Sadio Mame.
The fee involved seems very appealing, with Newcastle able to gamble on Dieng’s potential without committing themselves to huge money.
Dieng isn’t a big-name addition but he could could be a star of the future – and he’s a name to keep a close eye on over the coming days.
