Newcastle United are targeting Armando Broja and he appears to be interested in making the move to St James’ Park this summer.

Newcastle have completed three signings this summer with a strong focus placed on Eddie Howe’s back line.

The Magpies landed left back Matt Targett on a permanent basis after a strong loan spell from Aston Villa.

Goalkeeper Nick Pope and defender Sven Botman have both arrived too, giving Newcastle what looks to be a very impressive defensive setup next season.

Newcastle must now look to bring in attacking quality, with a new striker on Howe’s radar.

Newcastle United are targeting Armando Broja

Chris Wood didn’t quite find his goalscoring form after joining Newcastle in January whilst Callum Wilson’s long-standing injury problems are well-documented.

Newcastle may therefore need another centre forward this summer and they appear to fancy Chelsea talent Armando Broja.

Reports last weekend suggested that Newcastle were confident of pulling off a deal for Broja, most likely a loan move.

That was then followed by reports that Broja wants to leave Chelsea this summer with many clubs interested in him.

iNews now have an update about Broja, claiming that he is open to the idea of joining Newcastle this summer.

Broja, 20, spent last season on loan at Southampton and bagged six goals in 32 Premier League games.

That doesn’t sound all that great but Broja showed the potential to become a quality striker, with Gary Neville calling him ‘really, really exciting’.

Newcastle clearly feel that Broja can make a big impact for them next season, even if he has only scratched the surface of what he could become.

Newcastle must now wait to find out whether Chelsea will let Broja leave the club this summer, with Thomas Tuchel still yet to decide.

Broja is unlikely to play major first-team football for Chelsea this season, and another loan move – this time to Newcastle – may be ideal for his development, with Newcastle no doubt pushing for the top eight this time around.
