Newcastle United want Armando Broja and are now confident of winning the race for the Chelsea striker this summer.
The Magpies have secured two new faces this summer with Nick Pope and Sven Botman both arriving at St James’ Park.
Add in Matt Targett’s loan move being turned permanent and Newcastle are getting some smart business done.
Eddie Howe will still want more new signings though and it seems that a striker is wanted.
Chris Wood didn’t exactly shine after his January move from Burnley whilst Callum Wilson has well-documented injury problems.
Newcastle United want Armando Broja
A number of strikers have been linked with Newcastle but it now seems that Chelsea hitman Broja is their main target.
The Northern Echo report that Newcastle are now confident of beating West Ham United to the signing of Broja.
West Ham opened talks with Chelsea over a permanent deal for Broja in June but that hasn’t really progressed.
Newcastle are now full of real belief that they will now be able to lure Broja to St James’ Park.
They are still waiting for Chelsea to make a final decision on Broja though as Thomas Tuchel considers the Albanian’s future.

Broja spent last season on loan at Southampton, bagging six goals in 32 Premier League outings.
That may not sound all that impressive but the 20-year-old showed that he is feisty, physical and aggressive as well as quick and skilful, with Gary Neville hailing him as ‘really exciting’.
There is huge potential for Broja to become a quality striker in the coming years if he puts it all together.
It’s unclear whether Broja will be a part of the first-team plans at Chelsea next season, hence Newcastle and West Ham chasing his signature.
Newcastle now seem confident, and this report comes after The Sunday Mirror (03/07, p78) claimed that Newcastle would prefer to take Broja on loan rather than pay up for a permanent deal.
That may suit Chelsea as they weigh up whether Broja can become a first-team player in the future, whereas West Ham were chasing a £25million permanent move.
