Newcastle United want Armando Broja and are now willing to strike a permanent deal for the Chelsea talent this summer.

The Magpies are desperate to land another striker in order to support Callum Wilson and Chris Wood.

There have been links to a host of strikers over the last few months, with exciting young attackers seemingly the main focus.

Benjamin Sesko, Sekou Mara, Hugo Ekitike… Newcastle have looked into a host of young strikers, eyeing up talents for the future to work with experienced duo Wilson and Wood.

Armando Broja is another name in the mix and further reports are linking him with a move to St James’ Park.

Newcastle United want Armando Broja

Reports in July suggested that Newcastle were confident of signing Broja, but only on loan rather than in a cash deal.

Yet now, 90Min claim that Newcastle are prepared to pay a permanent fee for Broja in the hope of securing his signature.

It’s important to note here that Newcastle would only be able to take one player on loan from Chelsea as per Premier League rules.

Newcastle have an interest in three Chelsea players in loan deals; Conor Gallagher, Callum Hudson-Odoi and Christian Pulisic.

Newcastle can’t take two on loan, so signing Broja permanently would at least allow for another loan arrival from the Blues.

Broja, 20, spent last season on loan at Southampton and hit six goals in 32 Premier League outings.

Hailed as ‘really, really exciting’ by Gary Neville, Broja is now back at Chelsea and has played 17 minutes across two substitute appearances this season.

The Albanian won’t want to be sitting on the bench after playing so regularly last season though and Newcastle will hope that he pushes for a move away.

We would suggest that Watford’s Joao Pedro is a more likely signing, especially given his additional versatility to play out wide, but Broja is a name to keep an eye on in the final weeks of the season.
