Palmeiras have reportedly set an asking price of €25m (£22m) for 19-year-old winger Giovani, with Newcastle United interested in signing the Brazilian attacker.
According to journalist Jorge Nicola, the Sao Paulo-based club are open to selling the forward this summer amid growing interest from European clubs, with Newcastle one of the sides interested in signing Giovani, alongside the likes of Ajax, FC Barcelona and Bayer Leverkusen.
Giovani broke into Palmeiras’ senior team last year and has since established himself as one of the club’s most exciting prospects, alongside Real Madrid-bound Endrick. And a move to Europe now looks to be on the cards for the Brazilian youth international.
Likened to Manchester United superstar Jadon Sancho, Newcastle are set for a huge summer of spending, and Giovani could be one of Eddie Howe’s flagship signings amid this latest update from Brazil, which strongly suggests that a good deal could be in the works.

Indeed, £22m for a Brazilian wonderkid is a deal many top European sides would be eager to push through, and Newcastle could now be in a position to do just that come the summer, with the Magpies keen to flesh out their attacking options as well as lower the average age of the squad.
And with Palmeiras now naming their price for Giovani, Newcastle would be foolish not to go all out for the attacker, who could be an excellent long-term signing for the Toon as well as another member of the growing Brazilian and South American contingent at the club.
Newcastle must beat Ajax and Barcelona to Giovani signing

With some big European clubs chasing Giovani, Newcastle face stern competition this summer in their bid to sign the Brazilian teenager, yet the appeal of playing in England and the club’s rising reputation could make the Magpies an ideal next club for the winger.
As we know, Newcastle are keen to add a Brazilan teenager to their ranks this summer, and Giovani ticks a lot of boxes for what Howe and PIF want in a potential signing, with the Magpies having the resources and pulling power to make a deal possible in the coming weeks.
