AC Milan are reportedly in talks to sign Chelsea winger and rumoured Newcastle United target Christian Pulisic despite the American international being unavailable for some months due to injury.

According to Marca, the Rossoneri are working quickly to secure a deal to sign Pulisic even with the 24-year-old attacker set for some time out on the sideline, with Graham Potter recently telling the press that the forward faces several months out.

As a result, it was widely expected that Pulisic would stay at Chelsea this January amid reports from the Telegraph that Newcastle are interested in signing the former Borussia Dortmund star. However, Milan are now seemingly keen to bring in the American superstar regardless of his injury.

Signed by Chelsea for £58m, Pulisic has struggled to hit the heights many expected the forward to reach in the Premier League with the Blues, and signing for Milan could be a refreshing change of scenery for the Hershey-born winger, who benefit from playing in a slower division.

Indeed, Pulisic has struggled for minutes this season under both Thomas Tuchel and Graham Potter. And whilst Newcastle would be a smart move on paper, Milan could be an even better transfer for the American sensation, with Serie A a league that could see the winger explode into life.

With Milan also willing to wait until Pulisic is fully fit, the belief the Italian club are already instilling into the Chelsea outcast is something the likes of Newcastle are yet to offer, and this could play a big role in the attacker deciding on his future this January.

Pulisic’s time at Chelsea has been odd, to say the least. Yet with the winger now on the verge of leaving the club, moving to Milan has the potential to revive the forward’s career for the better, with Italy the perfect destination for the American international.

Whilst Newcastle have the funds and the squad mentality to also bring Pulisic’s career back from the dead, Milan would offer the attacker a fresh start that is very much needed for the winger, with the San Siro club the ideal landing spot for the Chelsea man.
