Newcastle United and Blackburn Roves are reportedly interested in Scott Dann of Crystal Palace.

According to The Sun on Sunday (print edition, page 61, July 7, 2019), Blackburn Rovers are interested in signing Scott Dann from Crystal Palace in the summer transfer window, meaning that Newcastle United are facing competition for the 32-year-old central defender.

Competition for Newcastle United

Blackburn are in the Championship, and Newcastle being in the Premier League will surely appeal to Rovers than the central defender.

The Magpies are an established club in the top flight of English football, and Dann will be a good signing for Newcastle.

Newcastle could do with an experienced central defender, and the former Coventry City and Birmingham City star would make Newcastle’s backline better.

However, Dann is a former Blackburn player and was on the books of Rovers from 2011 until 2014, and returning to Ewood Park could be an emotional decision for him.
