Newcastle have taken to TikTok to poke fun at Tottenham glovesman Hugo Lloris after their 2-1 win over Spurs in the Premier League on Sunday.

Well, the Magpies have decided to post footage of Callum Wilson opening the scoring against the north Londoners, in which Lloris bumped into the England international, before falling over and leaving his goalmouth unattended.

The £7.9m shot-stopper desperately tried to appeal to Jarred Gillett for a foul, although in truth, the France international simply made a mess of the situation and should’ve hammered the ball clear.

Now, Newcastle have uploaded a video of the incident with Johnny Cash’s Ring of Fire playing in the background, specifically focused on the line “I fall down” – to insinuate that Lloris fell, rather than being fouled by Wilson.

You can see what Newcastle posted on TikTok below.

We’re sure Lloris won’t be happy if he sees this, although it’s also nice to see a bit of cheekiness from the Magpies.

Those on Tyneside are clearly in good spirits, and they have every right to be.

Eddie Howe has guided Newcastle into the top four after suffering just one defeat in 12 Premier League games so far.

If some more investment is made in the playing staff this winter, then nobody can rule out a stunning return to the Champions League for Newcastle in time for the 2023/24 campaign.

Newcastle beating Tottenham was a statement

In our view, the win over Tottenham proved that Newcastle are in the mood to have a special season.

The Magpies have already given strong accounts of themselves when up against big hitters this term, recording a 3-3 draw against Manchester City, a 0-0 draw at Old Trafford and a narrow 2-1 loss to Liverpool.

However, Tottenham had enjoyed a 100% record at home in the Premier League before Newcastle arrived in N17 on Sunday, so it speaks volumes that the Magpies were able to perform so impressively and take all three points.

If Howe can avoid any injuries to his key men, and maybe sign one or two stars in January, Newcastle can certainly do something special this term.
