Newcastle have been offered Maxwel Cornet but Premier League rivals Fulham are now considering making a move for the Burnley ace.
There were few shining lights for Burnley last season as their time in the Premier League came to an end.
The Clarets just couldn’t haul themselves clear and are now facing up to life back in the Championship.
Burnley are bound to lose players and Nick Pope and James Tarkowski have already moved on, joining Newcastle and Everton respectively.
One of those to come out of the season with some credit was winger Cornet, who joined Burnley from Lyon last summer.
Newcastle have been offered Maxwel Cornet
Burnley paid £15million to sign Cornet in an exciting move, with the Ivorian bagging nine goals and two assists in 28 games.
Capable of playing all the way up the left flank and even on the right, Cornet is a versatile performer who showed promise at Burnley.
Cornet will also appeal to clubs given that he is just 25 and allegedly has a release clause in his contract worth around £18million.
On Saturday, The Chronicle claimed that Cornet has been offered to Newcastle United as they seek a new winger.

It is now up to Newcastle to decide whether that deal is one to pursue, but they may need to make the call very quickly.
The Sunday Mirror (10/07, p74) sport that Fulham are now considering making a move for Cornet.
The Cottagers are desperate for reinforcements and have picked out Cornet as a player who can make an instant Premier League impact.
Marco Silva’s summer window has been a little frustrating so far and Fulham certainly need new recruits if they are to stay in the Premier League.
Cornet couldn’t keep Burnley in the top flight but Fulham clearly see something in him – and they will hope that Newcastle, who will seem more appealing right now, don’t take up that offer.
