Transfer insider Fabrizio Romano has reported that Borussia Dortmund and Juventus have joined the race to sign Newcastle United-linked starlet Ivan Fresneda in January.
Sky journalist Dharmesh Sheth recently told The Transfer Show that Fresenda was ‘very open’ to join Newcastle in the January transfer window.
Furthermore, the Spaniard, with a reported £26 million release clause was ‘flattered’ by the interest shown by Eddie Howe’s side to bring him in as a backup to Kieran Trippier.
Spanish expert Fernando Kallas had also claimed that the potential transfer involving the Real Valladolid wonderkid to St. James’ Park was almost a ‘done deal.’
The question remains whether Ivan Fresenda may consider his options again, as Newcastle now face competition from two European giants like Borussia Dortmund and Juventus in January.
Even GOAL stated that the Magpies were also set to beat both Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid to sign the highly-rated defender.
With Dortmund known to develop youngsters virtually better than the rest of Europe and the lure of Juventus, will the Newcastle project be able to tempt Fresneda into signing on the dotted line in January?
Well, who knows but for the time being, it’s imperative to explore this latest development.
