Newcastle Amazon documentary: Sky journalist says filming is in the works

Sky journalist Keith Downie has said that an Amazon documentary based on Newcastle United during the 2022/2023 season is currently being filmed behind-the-scenes.

In the past, other Premier League clubs have had such documentaries take place such as Manchester City and Arsenal, giving fans across the world a unique insight into the day-to-day workings of some of the biggest clubs in the world.

It seems like the same could be the case with Newcastle now, who are currently 4th in the league and have been flying since being taken over by Saudi Arabia’s PIF (Public Investment Fund) in 2022, who have also been praised by HITC Football for having a measured transfer approach.

Amazon documentary in the works for Newcastle United

With Eddie Howe, who has previously been credited by Jamie Carragher coming in and transforming the Magpies as well, with his side perhaps being one of, if not the biggest overachievers in the ongoing campaign, it will certainly make for an intriguing watch.

Sky journalist Keith Downie tweeted on Wednesday, saying, “Something I mentioned last night on True Faith: Newcastle United podcast: camera crews have been filming behind-the-scenes at Newcastle United for a 4-part documentary to be shown on Amazon.”

“The series will chart the club and its owners as they attempt to win a trophy, and qualify for the Champions League.”

Exciting update for not just Newcastle but football fans

It’s safe to say that the club based in the North-East of England can boast of having some of the most exciting projects in football.

Keeping that in mind, an Amazon documentary based on Newcastle, albeit will give football fans as a whole a true insight into what goes behind building a team that seems destined to dominate England and Europe as a whole.

From Eddie Howe to the players and the cash-rich owners, viewers will get a rare chance to understand the grind behind-the-scenes to make the club a rising force in the game.
