Fat Joe got to attend a FIFA World Cup game, and he told fellow New York rap icon JadaKiss what made him admire the sport.

Many prominent pop culture figures in America have gotten involved in the festivities at the FIFA World Cup this summer, taking in the beautiful game.

One of these figures happened to be none other than New York hip-hop icon Fat Joe, who shared his thoughts on the experience of seeing Erling Haaland in a recent podcast.

Fat Joe explains why Brazil’s FIFA World Cup experience inspired him

Speaking to JadaKiss on their Joe and Jada podcast, New York rap icon Fat Joe explained what his first reaction was to seeing Erling Haaland dominate against Brazil.

Joe was taken by the Norwegian machine, comparing him to Rocky villain Ivan Drago, and questioning why Brazil didn’t do anything to stop him.

“I’m not going to front like I know much about soccer. All I know is, they got the white boy. What he kept telling Rocky? ‘If he dies, he dies!’ Norway, they got a Drago!

“I watched them because this girl was sitting there, she said, ‘#9 is bigger, stronger than everybody.’ I said, ‘What do you mean?’

“I locked in on him, holy s—! That guy is a computer. This guy here. You know how we know basketball? I would’ve boxed him out, I would’ve had two guys on him.

“If he’s who you keep telling me he is, they knew he was going to do it. I don’t know if soccer work that way.”

Fat Joe describes his ‘crazy’ experience at Brazil vs. Norway game

Speaking earlier in the podcast, Fat Joe also talked about the overall atmosphere he experienced during the Brazil vs. Norway quarter-final game at MetLife Stadium.

“I went to the Brazil game. Man, do they know how to have fun. You ever been to one of these? You know how f—— crazy (they get)?

“Let me tell you something, they got the drums, and they are doing some s—! Brazil! (Drum noises) Brazil! 60,000.

“And then on the other side, all the white Vikings are doing ‘row, row, row your boat.’ Nah, that s— is crazy, bro! I was in there the first time, I was like, ‘Yo this s— is crazy!’ They at war.

“They are playing the war drums. I’m talking about thousands of people doing the same s—. It was a great time, I had the best time in the world.”

From the sound of it, Fat Joe has become a fan of soccer, and might split his time between the reigning NBA champions New York Knicks and either one of the New York teams in the MLS.
