Timothée Chalamet turned the New York Knicks’ Game 1 win into a perfect fan moment after joking that the playoffs had taken a real toll on his body.

The actor was at Frost Bank Center in San Antonio on Wednesday, June 3, as the Knicks opened the 2026 NBA Finals with a 105-95 road win over the Spurs.

New York’s celebrity fan base traveled well, but Chalamet found the funniest way to frame the night. He treated a courtside Finals win like a physical recovery session.

Timothée Chalamet Knicks post captures Game 1 fan fatigue

SportsCenter shared Chalamet’s post after the Knicks win, with the actor icing his knees and leaning into the grind of playoff fandom.

“Ppl underestimate the wear and tear on the body of a fan through the playoffs. Self care is important 💆🤣”

The joke worked because Chalamet has not been a casual postseason visitor. He has been a regular presence around the Knicks during their playoff run, both at Madison Square Garden and on the road.

That made the image feel less like celebrity theater and more like a Knicks fan enjoying the absurdity of the moment. After a tense Finals opener, he gave fans a lighter talking point without pulling attention from the win itself.

Knicks NBA Finals win gives Chalamet another road moment

The Knicks beat San Antonio 105-95 in Game 1, with Jalen Brunson scoring 30 points and New York recovering from a 14-point deficit on the road.

Karl-Anthony Towns added 18 points and 12 rebounds, while Victor Wembanyama led the Spurs with 26 points and 12 rebounds. That gave the game real weight before Chalamet’s post turned into the viral punchline.

He was not the only famous Knicks supporter in the building. Ben Stiller, Spike Lee, Tracy Morgan and John Turturro were also part of the New York contingent in San Antonio.

Chalamet’s Knicks connection has been easy to spot for years. As a Manhattan native, he has carried the team like a genuine fan, not someone borrowing a courtside identity for camera time.

That is why the ice-pack joke landed. The Knicks left San Antonio with a Finals lead, and one of their most visible fans left with enough mock soreness to make the celebration feel even more New York.
