Arsenal fans have reacted on Twitter to Manuel Locatelli joining Juventus.
The 23-year-old has joined Juventus on a two-year loan from Sassuolo, with an obligation to buy the technician in 2023, as reported by BBC Sport.
It is said that Locatelli, who was also on Arsenal’s transfer radar this summer, could cost up to £32 million.
There were rumours circulating before Euro 2020 that Arsenal wanted to sign the midfielder, but it became difficult as that tournament progressed.
Given that Locatelli helped Italy become European champions, his stock went through the roof and he is now going to play for one of Italy’s biggest clubs.
Arsenal fans have offered a mixed reaction to his transfer, but they are well aware it was going to be difficult for them to snap up his talents ahead of those parties who were interested.
Back then, the Gunners needed a midfielder of Locatelli’s qualities and now they still need a player of his ilk.
It won’t annoy the Arsenal fans that they haven’t signed the Euro 2020 winner, but it will be frustrating that they still haven’t sorted their midfield out.
