Gary Neville stated that he ‘never’ had Manchester United down as Premier League title winners ahead of Arsenal or Manchester City after Erik ten Hag’s men were thrashed 7-0 by Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday.
Arsenal fans are already on cloud nine after their stunning 3-2 win over Bournemouth on Saturday, but their smiles would have been wider after watching Manchester United get humiliated by Liverpool.
The reason for that is Gary Neville has made it clear that Arsenal won’t win the title this season, fair enough. But what he has also said on top of that is Manchester United will finish above Arsenal this season.

Perhaps the former right-back is going to change his mind now? There are defeats, but then there is getting embarrassed and that loss is one of the worst, if not the worst in Man United’s history.
As a result of it, Man United remain 14 points behind leaders Arsenal in the table, with a game in hand, but even Neville will be going back on his comments now.
Nonetheless, as Liverpool were eating Man United alive on Merseyside, the TV pundit was asked about the Premier League’s top two whilst he was doing commentary duty, as he told Sky Sports (05/03/23).
“I never had them down as title winners, to be fair, not at one point this season,” said Neville.
“I think it’s a miracle that Erik ten Hag has got them where he has, so that’s not a disappointment, for me today. It’s more of a surprise in the second half. This is out of character.”

TITLE CHALLENGE OVER
If there were any Man United fans thinking that they were possibly challenging for the title, well, it’s out of the window now.
This is devastating and it will send ripple effects across the Premier League.
Perhaps it’s not a good sign for Arsenal because they have to visit Anfield next month and everyone knows their and Arteta’s past history when it comes to that trip.
