Nate Diaz has fuelled talk of a UFC comeback after declaring he has unfinished business.

The veteran fighter sparked fresh speculation with a message on X referencing the BMF belt that was first introduced for his fight in 2019.

His post arrives as the symbolic title continues to feature in headline bouts inside the promotion.

Diaz revisits origins of BMF title

The BMF championship was created for Diaz’s clash with Jorge Masvidal at UFC 244, a fight that ended via doctor stoppage due to cuts.

Despite the loss, the belt became a recurring feature in high-profile matchups. In his recent post, Diaz reiterated his belief that he launched the concept.

“Let’s not act like I didn’t start a whole division bringing value to all these guys claiming they’re it. I gave opportunity and put notice on the dopest fights I got unfinished business, and I plan on going and taking what’s mine ASAP.”

“First to ever start a division and the dopest one at that. You’re welcome, m————. I’ll see you soon, I’m coming.”

The message circulated rapidly, adding to ongoing debate about a potential return to the Octagon.

Comeback talk builds around current title scene

The BMF belt is currently set to be defended by Max Holloway against Charles Oliveira at UFC 326. Diaz has not fought in the UFC since his contract concluded following a win over Tony Ferguson.

He has since competed in boxing, including a rematch victory over Masvidal. Dana White has previously indicated Diaz would be welcome back should he decide to rejoin the organisation.

With his latest statement signalling intent, attention now shifts to whether Diaz will act on his vow to settle unfinished business inside the cage.
