Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has raved about Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal and believes that the Gunners have been “exceptional” so far this seasn, as quoted in Football.London.
Guardiola is shocked that Manchester City are behind Arsenal in the Premier League table at the moment despite picking up more points at this stage of the season than in years gone by.
Arsenal are at the top of the Premier League table at the moment with 34 points from 13 matches, two points ahead of defending champions and second-placed City.
Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola on Arsenal
Guardiola said: “We could be top of the league! But Arsenal have been exceptional.
“I think yesterday one guy on my staff told me that we had more points in the Premier League [at this stage of the season] than I think in the last four seasons!
“So that means we have been really good, but another team has been better. We have to accept it. This is the level, the bar, the standards.”

Title challenge from the Gunners
In our opinion, Manchester City are the favourites for the Premier League title this season, but Arsenal are genuine challengers now.
The Gunners are winning matches and playing well at the moment, and they are keeping the pressure on City.
Liverpool look like they will struggle to even finish in the Premier League top four this season.
Tottenham Hotspur are already eight points behind Arsenal, having played a game more.
Manchester United are not equipped to challenge for the title this season.
So, it seems that Arsenal are now the main challengers to City for the Premier League title this season.
