Liverpool are set to name a number of teenagers tonight, according to the Daily Mirror, which hasn’t gone down too well with their fans.
Youngsters to start?
Liverpool may be in a title fight but the rumour that they are seemingly set to rest key players this evening actually has annoyed the bulk of Reds supporters on social media.
Interestingly, Liverpool fans feel that Jurgen Klopp should be taking the competition more seriously, as they are at the quarter-final stage after-all.
And many followers of the Anfield club wish that they were going to name a stronger line-up against Leicester City later.
Risky tactic?
If Liverpool do name a number of their young players then their position in the competition does look a lot more precarious.
Leicester may not be having their finest season under Brendan Rodgers, but they still have a huge amount of ability in their squad.
The Foxes surely will name a side which is close to full strength, given that they are just three wins away from the trophy.
Liverpool actually didn’t win any silverware last season at all, so it is understandable why supporters are so keen to add to their trophy cabinet again as soon as they possibly can.
Klopp will, of course, argue that his strategy is the correct one as he doesn’t want to risk injury to key players.
But with the Reds now so close to the final – and with Manchester City out of the competition – the temptation to name a strong side must be there.
If Liverpool do name the youngsters, as the Mirror suggests, the likes of Tyler Morton, Neco Williams and Kaide Gordon could be among those who receive game time.
