Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said on Sky Sports News (2:52pm, December 11, 2021) that Divock Origi suffered an injury in training on Friday.
Origi did not feature for Liverpool in their Premier League game against Aston Villa at Anfield on Friday.
Divock Origi injury
Before the game, Liverpool boss Klopp said that the Belgium international striker suffered an injury in training.
The German, though, did say that it is not serious.
Klopp said: “Divock is not in the squad. He had some problems yesterday in training. We started training, but then. Don’t think it’s anything serious. He is just not ready.”
Important player for Liverpool
Origi is not a regular in the Liverpool starting lineup, but he has got his chances in recent times, and he will hope that he recovers from his injury soon.
The 26-year-old scored a late winner against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Premier League last weekend.

Then in midweek, Origi scored against AC Milan in the Champions League.
There have been injury problems for Liverpool, with Roberto Firmino only just returning to training.
Nathaniel Phillips is on the sidelines at the moment.
In our opinion, with Africa Cup of Nations coming up in January, Origi’s importance will grow, with Mo Salah and Sadio Mane leaving for the competition.
