Tim Sherwood has claimed that Leeds United are his ‘favourite’ team after they survived relegation from the Premier League on Sunday.
The former midfielder added that it has been a ‘hectic’ season for Leeds, but that is a reason why they are loved.
Heading into the final day of the campaign, those from Yorkshire needed a favour from Newcastle United, and they needed to do their job at Brentford in order to survive.
And that’s exactly what happened, as the Whites beat Brentford and Newcastle ended Burnley’s reign in the Premier League – Roy Keane wasn’t a happy man after the match.
It’s been a season to forget and remember in equal measures for Leeds, as Sherwood told MatchDay Extra on PLP (22/05/22 at 8:10 pm) that he is glad they stayed up.
“It has been hectic,” said Sherwood. “He (Marsch) has gone into that football club and they just needed to get results.
“It’s a hectic football club and that’s why we love them. It has been brilliant. Since they have been in the Premier League, they are my favourite team to watch.
“I want to watch Leeds because they score lots of goals. But that has nearly taken them down. Before the result, that was the difference. Goal difference gave Burnley the advantage.”

A BIG SUMMER TRANSFER WINDOW AWAITS LEEDS
The one major problem for Leeds since they have come up is their lack of squad depth and how that has hurt them.
That clearly needs to be sorted, more depth needs to be added during the summer transfer window because it has been way too chaotic.
Whilst this season has seen the club have to deal with injuries after injuries, heavy defeats and a training regime that has hit them hard.
But all of that could work in their favour because they have dragged themselves through that and they can now look forward for the better.
