What a performance by Arsenal‘s Bukayo Saka on Saturday night.
Yes, England exited the World Cup after going down 2-1 to France in Qatar.
But the £30,000-a-week Arsenal winger was arguably his country’s best player on the night.
Saka won the penalty which led to Harry Kane firing the Three Lions back on level terms and Theo Hernandez of Les Bleus would’ve been relieved to see Gareth Southgate remove the Gunners attacker in the second half.
That substitution has resulted in Southgate being pelted, with the consensus being that he took off the wrong Three Lions player.

Mesut Ozil has moved to console England as a team on Twitter, but highlighted his former Arsenal teammate for special praise, claiming that he is the ‘future’.
Saka will be utterly devastated.
Remember, it was the Arsenal player who missed the decisive penalty at Euro 2020 18 months ago, as Italy won the competition.
He will have been as motivated as any England player to go one better this time around but, unfortunately, it wasn’t to be.
Saka needs to dust himself down now in time for Arsenal’s return to Premier League action on December 26 for a visit of West Ham United.
