Mudryk position has become a frequently searched term on Google after Arsenal submitted a £56m bid for the Ukraine international.
Shortly before the Gunners kicked off in their 3-1 win over West Ham, Fabrizio Romano revealed that an offer worth €60m (£56m) in total had been sent to Shakhtar Donetsk for the 21-year-old.
The Ukrainian then sent Arsenal fans into a frenzy after showing that he was watching the victory over West Ham, posting footage of Eddie Nketiah’s goal on his official Instagram page.
So, what position is Mudryk? And what else do Arsenal fans need to know? Let’s take a look…
Mudryk position
Well, Google simply state that Mudryk is a midfielder, but let’s go into more detail.
The Shakhtar Donetsk No.10 is predominately a left winger, having made 17 appearances in that position so far this season.
Mudryk – who is right footed – has also made one appearance as a right winger this term, which came when Shakhtar Donetsk drew 2-2 against FK Oleksandriya in the Ukrainian Premier League on November 29th.
As you can see below, the Arsenal target is not a player who usually tends to drive towards the corner flag and whip crosses in.
Mudryk loves to cut inside and get shots away on his stronger right foot, and can clearly pack plenty of power behind a strike.
However, the wonderkid wanted by Mikel Arteta and Edu is also quite comfortable using his weaker left foot, as seen in the Champions League against Celtic where he confidently lifted a strike over Joe Hart.
You can see that goal below.
If a move does materialise this winter, Arsenal fans have many reasons to be excited.
