Tottenham conceded five as they were knocked out at Goodison
Davinson Sánchez and Hugo Lloris are the two main culprits for Tottenham’s defensive horror show against Everton.
That’s the view of former Spurs midfielder Jamie O’Hara, who was unimpressed as Jose Mourinho’s men lost 5-4 against Everton at Goodison.
The Toffees won a thrilling encounter after extra time, with Mourinho’s team exiting the FA Cup in the fifth round.
Sanchez scored two of Tottenham’s four goals, but O’Hara believes he was still their worst player on the night.
O’Hara, who also played for the likes of Wolves and Fulham, told talkSPORT: “It’s disgraceful really.
“If you go away from home, score four goals but still lose the game, it’s ridiculous.
“I love the way Spurs played (to begin with). They attacked the game and deservedly went 1-0 up. I then went to put the kettle on and came back and we were 3-1 down!
“It was a great game for the neutral but the defending was shocking. Davinson Sanchez scored two goals for us and he was our worst player!
“The (Dominic) Calvert-Lewin goal, Lloris has to save it. He’s hit it hard but it’s straight at him!
“It’s the old saying, ‘chocolate wrists’. You’ve got to palm them away, they can’t end up in the back of your net.
“The last (goal), Bernard, it’s a good goal but make yourself big! When he gets in those tight angles, it’s like he makes himself smaller…
“Mourinho will be raging at the defending.”
While the manager will be hoping for a positive response from his players, they couldn’t have asked for tougher next fixture.
They travel to the Etihad on Saturday to face in-form Manchester City, who lead the Premier League by five points following their 4-1 win over Liverpool.
