Jorge Martin has stirred up the MotoGP rumour mill even more by sharing his predictions for the 2027 grid, including a nod to Yamaha, the team he’s been heavily linked with.
Just before testing got underway, reports surfaced that Martin was closing in on a move to Yamaha. This came not long after similar talk around Fabio Quartararo potentially heading to Honda.
While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, announcements are expected before the season kicks off in Thailand.
That hasn’t slowed down the speculation. It seems most riders want their plans set before the 22-race season gets underway in early March.
Jorge Martin’s prediction for the 2027 grid and how MotoGP fans reacted

Martin is the latest rider to offer his take on what the 2027 grid could look like, following up on Marc Marquez’s predictions from earlier in the week.
He placed himself at Yamaha, saying it was “just because of the rumours!”
MotoGP fans didn’t waste time sharing their opinions online. Under an Instagram video of Martin’s comments, one fan joked, “Puts himself in Yamaha for the ‘rumours’ like he hasn’t already signed the contract.”
Another picked up on who else he put alongside him at Yamaha, writing, “So Martin and Bagnaia at Yamaha factory next year? Hmmm…”
The changes would line up with other predictions already out there. Martin forecasted that Bastianini would move from Red Bull KTM to Repsol Honda alongside Quartararo. Meanwhile, Pedro Acosta would replace Bastianini at KTM after spending three years with GasGas Tech3.
Not everyone sees his prediction as just a bit of fun. Unlike Marquez’s light-hearted comments last year about Juan Pablo Montoya and Conor McGregor joining forces at VR46 Racing Team, many believe Martin is serious about his picks.
The majority feel he might actually be on to something this time around. One fan said simply, “First one to speak facts,” while another added, “The rumours are all accurate!” Someone else posted: “First truthful prediction video for the 2027 season.”
Rumours swirl around Yamaha as Bagnaia’s top pick for 2027
With Pedro Acosta expected to join Borgo Panigale after the upcoming season, questions have lingered about what lies ahead for Bagnaia.
The two-time world champion has been linked with nearly every manufacturer on the grid, but reports suggest he is leaning toward Yamaha.
Many MotoGP fans aren’t convinced this is the right move. They feel that other teams might offer him a better path forward than Yamaha.
Aprilia, in particular, has been highlighted as a strong alternative. The team has made significant strides over the past year and now looks capable of challenging for race wins.
