Heneghan has failed to feature for Sheffield United since his summer move from Motherwell and could go out on loan.

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has confirmed his interest in signing Ben Heneghan from Sheffield United.
Heneghan left Motherwell to join the Blades in a £400,000 in August, but has yet to make a first team appearance for Chris Wilder’s men.
Speaking to BBC Radio Sheffield last week, Wilder confirmed United have had contact from other clubs regarding the centre-back, whom he expects to leave on loan this month.

“There have been enquiries from a lot of clubs regarding players that have not been involved for us. I’m expecting both of those boys [Heneghan and Nathan Thomas], maybe in the next week or 10 days, to make a choice and us do the deal for them to go out and play football,” he said.
And according to Robinson, Motherwell are one of the clubs to have registered an interest.
“I’m in constant touch with Ben. But he’s got a lot of options and other places he could go,” he told the Scottish Sun.
“Ben hasn’t played at Sheffield United and he’s someone we’ve enquired about and spoken to.

“Ben’s aware of our interest and he’s one of a few defenders we’ve had discussions about and are looking at. We’d love to have him back.
“Realistically, it may be difficult for us. But I’ve not ruled it out.”
Heneghan moved to Motherwell in 2016 from non-league Chester, and was a regular in his only full season at Fir Park.
The 24-year-old’s displays are said to have caught the eye of several clubs, including Glasgow Rangers, before Sheffield United came calling.
The Blades made wholesale changes for Saturday’s FA Cup win against Ipswich Town, but failed to include Heneghan, who has already played for Motherwell this season and would not be able to appear for a third club before the new campaign.
