Cedric Soares has lauded Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s attention to detail on the training ground as the Gunners lost major ground in the top-four race to Crystal Palace.
Speaking to the Evening Standard before the north London side’s 3-0 loss to the Eagles on Monday night, the Portuguese international was full of praise for Arteta for how he conducts the team both on and off the pitch.
The 40-year-old coach was recently named Premier League Manager of the Month after a sensational March which saw Arsenal assert themselves as one of the favourites for a top-four finish.
Indeed, despite their loss to Palace last night, Arsenal remain in a good position to finish in fourth place, with the Gunners having a game in hand and Tottenham likely to also slip up in their remaining eight Premier League fixtures.
And for Cedric, Arteta is one of the best coaches the defender has worked with, with the Arsenal star saying: “He is a demanding coach in a lot of moments. I wouldn’t say strict. Strict is a strong word. I had coaches who were maybe more strict than him. He has a very good balance.”
The fullback added: “He is the most complete coach in every detail, he works on everything. There is not one area that maybe you don’t see and that he doesn’t work on. Every process is clear for everyone.”

Arsenal’s defeat to Palace this week has been a major setback for the Gunners in their quest to finish in the top-four, but there’s no denying that Arteta has done an exceptional job in getting the Gunners in the position to even fight for the position.
A change to a youth-driven transfer policy and building the squad into a 4-3-3 has been instrumental in Arsenal’s fortunes changing for the better, and whilst the loss to Palace will sting, Arteta is the man who will get the Gunners back on track in the coming weeks.
