Paul Gascoigne, Neymar, Lionel Messi, to name a few. The World Cup has hosted some terrific dribblers, and Arsenal sold one of the best in Alexis Sanchez.
The Gunners offloaded the Chile international to Manchester United back in January 2018, with Armenia international Henrikh Mkhitaryan joining Arsenal as part of the deal.
Sanchez has never hit the heights he enjoyed at Arsenal since leaving the Emirates Stadium, although fresh data from SofaScore shows the Gunners had one of the best dribblers in World Cup history on their hands.
Arsenal sold one of World Cup’s best dribblers
Well, the 33-year-old has made eight appearances at the World Cup throughout his career, scoring two goals while also providing two assists.
In those eight outings, Sanchez has registered 4.8 dribbles per game, which puts him ninth in the all-time dribbling charts, ahead of the aforementioned Gascoigne and £200m man Neymar.
The South American is just 0.1 dribble behind the legendary Diego Maradona.
Unfortunately, Chile did not qualify for the World Cup in Qatar, so Sanchez is unable to add to his impressive tally, in what is probably his last chance of playing at the tournament again.
The Chilean will be 37 when the 2026 World Cup kicks off, so unless he takes extremely good care of himself, his World Cup career may already be over.
Arsenal wanted Alexis Sanchez back
Over the summer, a bizarre report from Chilean news outlet La Tercera, which claimed that Mikel Arteta wanted to bring Sanchez back to the Emirates Stadium.

That was, most likely, nonsense, and the 33-year-old eventually joined Marseille after his time at Inter Milan came to an end.
Sanchez is now playing with the likes of Nuno Tavares, Sead Kolasinac and Matteo Guendouzi at Marseille, where there is a strong Arsenal contingent, and hopefully he can use his experience to make the first of those names, the only one on loan and set to return to north London, a better player.
