Celtic fans saw Mohamed Elyounoussi in green and white hoops for two years, but he could now end up signing for Brendan Rodgers.
The Bhoys swooped to sign Elyounoussi on loan from Southampton back in 2019.
Celtic had wanted to sign Elyounoussi in the past, targeting a 2016 move for the winger when he was at Basel.
Elyounoussi initially signed a one-year loan deal with Celtic before staying for a second year.
The Norwegian impressed at Parkhead, recording 24 goals and 14 assists in 67 games for the Bhoys.
Elyounoussi returned to Southampton this summer with his loan stay in Glasgow over, and Celtic were unable to keep him any longer.
Having shown some promise under Ralph Hasenhuttl, the 27-year-old is back in the Southampton fold and could even make a big move.
The Sunday Mirror (17/10, p74) reported last weekend that Arsenal and Leicester City now want to sign Elyounoussi.

A move to Leicester would of course mean that Elyounoussi joins forces with former Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers.
Add in that former Bhoys man Lee Congerton is in charge of transfers at Leicester, and the former Celtic duo could swoop in to do what the Hoops couldn’t in signing Elyounoussi permanently.
Celtic fans seem pretty happy with Jota and Liel Abada right now, and rightly so, but seeing Elyounoussi – hailed as ‘outstanding’ during his time at Parkhead – turn out for Rodgers could sting for some Bhoys supporters.
