Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has said that that he is really disappointed that Mohamed Salah could not take Egypt to the 2022 World Cup finals in Qatar later in the year, as quoted in The Athletic.
Salah’s Egypt lost to Senegal in the playoff final this week, with his Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane scoring the winning penalty.
Mane had also led Senegal to the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations success at the expense of Egypt earlier in the year.
The second leg of the 2022 World Cup playoff final between Egypt and Senegal was controversial, as Salah had laser beams in his eyes while he took his penalty in the shootout.
Salah, who cost Liverpool £34 million in 2017 (BBC Sport), could not score.

Jurgen Klopp on Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah
Klopp said, as quoted in The Athletic: “Really happy for Sadio he could make it and really disappointed for Mo.
“I don’t think the situation around the penalty and the lasers was cool. They are both top professionals and will deal with it in the right way.”
The Liverpool Echo quotes the German as saying: “It’s different when 2 mates in such a big game are against each other but they are top pros. Emotional but they will deal with it in the right way.
“Senegal are the best team in Africa and Egypt took them to the wire twice. That is as close as you can get. I am not sure they can see it like this but they cannot get closer. Unlucky with the draw too.”
Bouncing back
In our opinion, Salah will bounce back from the disappointment he has faced with Egypt.
The Liverpool star suffered a setback in his quest to win the 2022 Africa Cup of Nations this year, and now he will not be at the World Cup in Qatar.
We think that the Egyptian will get better for his bad experiences, and his focus now will be to lead Liverpool to Premier League and Champions League glory.
