On Tuesday, Mohamed Salah suffered further heartbreak away from Liverpool as Egypt failed to qualify for the World Cup.

Just like in the Africa Cup of Nations, it was Senegal who broke Salah’s heart, with Liverpool teammate Sadio Mane once again scoring the winning penalty.

For Jürgen Klopp, it must be tough to balance the contrasting emotions between Salah and Mane at the AXA Training Centre.

Now, thanks to The Times, we’ve been given a small insight into how Salah was behaving in training after flying back to Merseyside.

What’s the story?

Well, Paul Joyce of The Times has revealed that the 29-year-old returned to Liverpool training ‘craving a semblance of normality’ on Wednesday.

Having suffered defeat on Tuesday night, Salah fly home on a private jet, ready to return to Liverpool training on Wednesday morning.

That in itself speaks volumes about the Egyptian’s motivation, as well as his professionalism.

You can certainly understand why Salah wanted a bit of normality to return, following a bizarre end to Egypt’s clash with Senegal.

No wonder Mohamed Salah wanted quick Liverpool return

Tuesday night appeared to be very stressful for the ex-Chelsea man, as laser beams lit up his face while he prepared to take his spot-kick.

Salah consequently missed, while chaos ensued as he was quickly escorted off the field following a pitch invasion at full-time.

The Times adds there were also allegations of racist abuse aimed at the Liverpool No.11, while objects were thrown in his direction.

Therefore, you can sympathise with Salah as to why he wanted some normality to return to his life.

Hopefully, with the Premier League, Champions League and FA Cup all up for grabs, Salah can put this latest disappointment behind him quickly.
