Some Stuttgart fans are lauding their re-signing of Arsenal defender Konstantinos Mavropanos.

The 23-year-old Greece international has agreed to return to Germany after signing another season-long loan with the Bundesliga club.

According to The Athletic, they can also sign him on a permanent basis for only £5 million next summer because it seems like he has no future at Arsenal.

The towering centre-back impressed in a big way during his stint with the Germans last season, after it was made clear that he was surplus to requirements under Mikel Arteta and Edu.

And here’s how fans reacted to Sven Mislintat – who brought him to Arsenal in 2018 – getting his man once again.

No future

The writing has been on the wall for Mavropanos for some time now, it has to be said.

The big man, described by Mislintat as being a ‘top defender’ on Thursday, only ever managed seven Premier League appearances during his time in North London.

Despite having limited centre-back options at this moment in time, Arteta has clearly seen enough of the player to decide that he isn’t good enough for the Gunners and therefore that decision has to be respected, even if quite a lot of supporters disagree with it.
