Harry Redknapp says it will be a ‘miracle’ if Arsenal were to win the Premier League title this season and if Newcastle United were to secure Champions League football, as he told talkSPORT on Thursday morning.
Mikel Arteta’s side are sitting at the top of the Premier League table with an eight-point lead over Manchester City, whilst Eddie Howe has the Magpies sitting third in the table, with the likes of Manchester United and Tottenham breathing down their neck.
On Tuesday night, both Arsenal and Newcastle recorded a goalless draw at the Emirates, with perhaps the Gunners being more disappointed with that result because it was the first time they dropped points on home soil this season.

Either way, whilst the aim for those in north London would have been to secure Champions League football this season, they are ahead of their current plan in regards to pushing for the title.
Whilst the Toon Army faithful are in dreamland because they wouldn’t have expected to be in such a position after only 12 months of the Saudi-led ownership replacing Mike Ashley.
Nonetheless, with some claiming that it would be a ‘miracle’ if Tottenham finish in the top four, Redknapp disagreed and thinks what would actually be a ‘miracle’ this season
“I heard someone saying ‘oh, it will be a miracle if he (Conte) gets them in the top four’,” said Redknapp. “No, it would be a miracle if Newcastle make the top four. That would be fantastic what he would have done Eddie Howe there.
“It would be a miracle if Arsenal wins the league from where they were last year and without really bringing anyone in. They are now improving – for Tottenham to finish in the top-four, I expect that with that squad.”

JANUARY TRANSFER WINDOW
In recent transfer windows, both Arsenal and Newcastle have faired very well by bringing in players that have improved their squad, such as Brazil duo Gabriel Jesus and Bruno Guimaraes.
But it will be interesting to see how the two approach this current transfer window.
Both are ahead of their plans, so do they push the boat out now because of the big pot of gold that could await them at the end of the season?
Or do they keep their cool and continue doing what has worked for them? Either way, what happens this month will define what they produce during the second half of the season.
