Fabrizio Romano has said on Matt Hayes’s YouTube channel that he has been told that it will be tough for Tottenham Hotspur to sign Milan Skriniar this summer.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has said that Tottenham wanted to sign Skriniar from Inter Milan last summer.
The central defender is still on the radar of Spurs, and the North London club’s new sporting director, Fabio Paratici, loves the 26-year-old.
However, the price-tag of the Slovakia international has gone up following his performances with Inter last season.
Under Antonio Conte, the Nerazzurri won Serie A last season.
The Inter no.37 scored three goals in 32 league appearances and also played thrice in the Champions League.

Romano said on Matt Hayes’s YouTube channel: “About Skriniar, I am told that it is really, really difficult. Paratici always loved the player since he was at another club here in Italy, Sampdoria, before joining Inter, and Paratici has always been looking at this player.
“Tottenham, you know, last summer also wanted him and were trying to sign him. So he has always been on the radar, but I am told that it will be really, really difficult because Inter are not accepting €40 or €45 million (£34.52-£38.83m).
“They were negotiating around €50 million (£43.15m) as price-tag last summer, but now Skriker has different value because his season with Antonio Conte was fantastic.”

Could a Tottenham Hotspur transfer happen?
Tottenham are reportedly in advanced talks to sign Argentina international central defender Cristian Romero.
However, there is always room for more good players.
Skriniar is a very good player who is still only 26.

Inter have financial problems, and a big offer from Spurs could convince them to sell the Slovakia international.
Everything is possible in the summer transfer window.
If Paratici is determined to sign Skriniar, then Spurs should at least make an offer.
