Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has told Football.London that he isn’t considering a deal to sign Jack Wilshere on a free transfer.
The Gunners have lacked creativity this season, with their only goal in their last five Premier League games – and that came from the penalty spot.
Mesut Ozil won’t be brought back into the setup, so it’s unclear just how Arteta will add some guile to his attack before the January transfer window.
One player who seemingly fancies re-joining the club is Wilshere, as he suggested he could solve the creative issues earlier this week.
Wilshere is a free agent having been released by West Ham United last month, and he will be looking to find a new club soon.
The 28-year-old spent 17 years with Arsenal before leaving in 2018, and some think he is worth bringing back even if only on a pay-as-you-play deal.

However, Arteta has suggested that Arsenal haven’t even analysed Wilshere’s situation, and are focusing on the players they already have.
Arteta does rate Wilshere highly as a player and as a person having played with him at Arsenal, but seemingly doesn’t plan to sign him.
“We haven’t analysed that situation,” said Arteta. “What I can tell you about Jack as a player, as a person and a team mate is I rate him really highly, but unfortunately at the moment we are focused on the players we have,” he added.
