Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that Granit Xhaka could be back in action against Everton at Goodison Park after his recovery from injury.
The Gunners will take on Everton away from home at Goodison Park in the Premier League on Monday evening.
Xhaka suffered a medial knee ligament injury back in September.
The Switzerland international midfielder, who cost Arsenal £30 million (Sky Sports), is back training with his Arsenal teammates.
Mikel Arteta on Granit Xhaka recovery
Arteta told Arsenal’s official website about Xhaka on Saturday: “He is progressing well, he is doing all the right things and he’s feeling better but no more news on that. It’s very positive because the evolution he is doing is great, he is partially training with the team and he is heading in the right direction.”
The Spaniard added about Xhaka playing on Monday: “This week he has progressed again to a different level, and tomorrow we will assess how he is, have a conversation with him and decide when is the best moment to start to give him some exposure in games.”

Encouraging for Arsenal
Arsenal have done well in the absence of Xhaka.
In fact, you could argue that the 29-year-old has not been missed at all.
Albert Sambi Lokonga has done well in the middle of the park and has established himself as an important in the team.
However, in our opinion, Xhaka’s return to action is a big positive for Arsenal.

The midfielder is hugely experienced.
Remember, Arsenal are in the race for the Premier League top four.
So, Xhaka will give Arteta another valuable option in midfield.
Meanwhile, Al-Madina have reported that Al-Ittihad are in talks with Arsenal over signing midfielder Mohamed Elneny in the January transfer window.
The Saudi Arabian club are also reportedly in talks with Elneny’s agents over a transfer in January.
