Arsenal are reportedly putting plans in motion to make a move for Manchester United striker Marcus Rashford, who looks set to leave his boyhood club this summer.
According to the Mirror, Mikel Arteta is ready to add the England international to Arsenal’s shortlist for a new striker in the upcoming transfer window, with the north London club set to sign a new frontman with both Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah likely to leave.
Rashford has struggled greatly this season for both regular playing time and form, with the 24-year-old scoring just five goals in all competitions and making only nine starts in the Premier League under both Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ralf Rangnick.
And now, the forward could be ready to quit United. With Rashford earning a reported £200,000-a-week, the Red Devils might be willing to offload the striker, and now Arsenal could be a potential destination for the England international.
Rashford won’t be the first striker Arsenal sign from United, with the Gunners landing Danny Welbeck in 2014. And this summer could see the 24-year-old now make the move to the English capital if Arteta follows through with his interest.
Hailed as ‘fantastic’ by Gary Neville, Rashford could be one of the most high-profile players to move this summer, and for Arsenal, the United striker could be a risky signing for the north London club, yet Arteta could be the one to get the best out of the forward.
Rashford to Arsenal could be Arteta’s biggest undertaking yet

The Arsenal manager has a solid track record of improving players both in north London and during his time as an assistant at Manchester City, yet Rashford could be Arteta’s biggest test yet if the Basque manager does decide to sign the England sensation.
Indeed, Rashford has the qualities to become a world-class striker and a potent marksman for Arsenal under the right coaching, and if Arteta can get the best out of the United star, the 40-year-old manager would again pull off an incredible signing from an unlikely source.
