According to journalist Miguel Delaney’s Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent, speculation that Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane could join Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in the summer transfer window is being “laughed away”.
Delaney provided the inside information about the Kane rumours while giving an update on the transfer situation at Liverpool.
The well-known and well-respected journalist has reported that no one at Liverpool is seriously considering a move for Tottenham and England international striker Kane this summer.
There has been speculation in recent days that Liverpool are interested in signing Kane from Premier League rivals Tottenham in the summer transfer window.
“Any notions that Harry Kane could go to Liverpool are being laughed away, meanwhile,” Delaney wrote in his Reading the Game newsletter in The Independent on Friday (12pm, June 3, 2022).
“Tottenham Hotspur’s Champions League qualification and the impact of Antonio Conte have fully changed his mind.”

Harry Kane from Tottenham Hotspur to Liverpool ain’t happening
In our view, Harry Kane will not leave Tottenham Hotspur for Liverpool in the summer transfer window.
It is simply not going to happen.
No way.
Yes, Sadio Mane could leave Liverpool this summer, and there are also doubts over the future of fellow forward Mohamed Salah, but Tottenham are not going to sell arguably their best and most important player in Kane now.
Spurs chairman Daniel Levy is not going to sell Kane and weaken a team that will play in the Champions League under head coach Antonio Conte.
