Sunderland will reportedly have £20 million to spend in the January transfer window.
Micky Gray has told the Jim White Show, which was broadcast on TalkSPORT on 22nd November, that Sunderland need to back David Moyes with funds in the January transfer window.
Sunderland have won their last two matches to move off the foot of the Premier League table.
The Black Cats are now only three points adrift of safety, and optimism is increasing around the Stadium of Light.

The effectiveness of the strike partnership between Jermain Defoe and Victor Anichebe has offered Sunderland fans hope that they could still survive.
However, Gray feels that without investment in January, all the momentum that Sunderland have built up through their recent results could be undone.

“Anichebe has come into the side and done absolutely fantastic. He’s added some steel,” Gray said. “He is helping Jermain.
“It’s brilliant. I just hope that this success continues until January, and I hope David gets backed because he needs to strengthen this squad.”
HITC Sport understands that Moyes will have a £20 million budget to spend in January, as he looks to improve the Black Cats’ squad.
Sunderland are next in action at the weekend, when they take on title challengers Liverpool at Anfield.
