Michail Antonio has said that Brendan Rodgers would be a smash success if he became the next Tottenham Hotspur manager.
Michael Owen said on Wednesday that he could foresee the former Leicester City boss potentially becoming a candidate to take over the vacancy in N17.
But it seems like Michail Antonio believes that if Tottenham Hotspur employ Brendan Rodgers as their next manager, he is likely to thrive.
Michail Antonio explains why Brendan Rodgers as Tottenham manager could work
The 50-year-old’s stock is at an all-time low after he was shown the door by Leicester City after what was a nightmarish campaign.
But it would be disingenuous to forget that Rodgers did a cracking job at the King Power Stadium, as the club were inches away from Champions League qualification twice, whilst also winning the FA Cup in 2021.
As Brendan Rodgers has been speculated with becoming the next manager of Tottenham, Michail Antonio has given his two cents on why the move could be a success.

“I think that would be unbelievable. Spurs like to play football, they like to play tight-knit football. They’ve got Harry Kane who drops in, they’ve got Son [Heung-min] to hit edges. I swear to you, it would work. It would definitely work.”
“Rodgers took over at Liverpool, he was two points off winning the Premier League. He has the nous; he has the qualities to do it. To be fair, he learnt from one of the best, so he was an apprentice for [Jose] Mourinho. I feel it will work, like him going to Spurs will definitely work”, he said on BBC’s Footballer’s Football Podcast.
Michail Antonio is not the only one who sees Brendan Rodgers shining as Tottenham manager, as Ally McCoist also recently made a case for why the potential move would be one to be optimistic about for all parties involved.
