Micah Richards has said on BBC Radio 5 Live that Emiliano Martinez was a brilliant signing for Aston Villa from Arsenal.
The former Villa full-back believes that Martinez has been amazing since his move to the Villans from the Gunners last summer.
Richards said on BBC Radio 5 Live: “Martinez was a great buy. He has been amazing for them this season.”
Martinez cost Villa £20 million in transfer fees last summer.
The 28-year-old plays well in the final weeks of the 2019-20 campaign, but Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta decided to keep faith in Bernd Leno and sold the Argentine.
Martinez is a safe pair of hands who can also marshall his back-line well.
One of the reasons why Villa did not have to worry about relegation was the form and performances of the Argentine.

Dean Smith’s side conceded 46 goals in the Premier League this season.
That’s only two more than Manchester United, who finished second in the table.
Martinez has flourished under Smith at Villa.
The Argentine is the first-choice goalkeeper at the Villans and has been able to show what he is capable of.
Villa have had a good season, and perhaps in 2021-22, they will aim even higher and hope to compete for a top-six spot in the Premier League table.
