Paul Merson has suggested on Sky Sports News (1:57pm, December 18, 2021) Wolverhampton Wanderers midfielder Ruben Neves as a possible transfer target for Chelsea.

The former Arsenal star believes that Chelsea are missing a player like Wolves star Neves.

Sky Sports pundit Merson thinks that Chelsea need a player in midfield who can spray passes like Neves can.

Wolves will take on Chelsea at home in the Premier League on Sunday.

Merson said on Sky Sports News (1:57pm, December 18, 2021): “I think Chelsea are missing a Neves. I think they are missing a player who can spray the ball around the pitch.”

Would Ruben Neves make Chelsea better?

In our opinion, Neves would be a very good signing for Chelsea and would make Thomas Tuchel’s side better.

The 24-year-old has been on the books of Wolves since 2017 and has established himself as a key player for the team.

The Portugal international is a very good central midfielder who can protect the back-line, drive the team forward, score goals and impose himself in the middle of the park.

Neves is only 24, so he has his best years ahead of him.

There was speculation linking Neves with Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur in the summer of 2021.

It shows just highly Neves is rated in the footballing community.
