Paul Merson told Sportskeeda that Wolves forward Raul Jimenez would make Heung-Min Son ‘one of the best’ in the Premier League if he signed for Tottenham.
There is a lot of talk about Harry Kane’s future at Tottenham and Merson feels Jimenez would be perfect for the North London club.
It’s perhaps obvious linking the £30 million player (BBC Sport) to Spurs given that Nuno Espirito Santo is now in the other dugout.
And Merson explained why the Mexico international is the most underrated player in the Premier League.
“I have been following Wolves’ Raul Jimenez for quite some time now and I’m shocked that the big six have not made a note of his abilities,” said Merson.
“With Nuno Espirito Santo now in North London, Spurs may well have an alternative to Harry Kane this season. With the England captain possibly on his way out, Santo will need to sign a replacement and Raul Jimenez suits the role to perfection.
“The centre-forward could also bring the best out of Heung-Min Son and make him look like one of the best in the Premier League.
“Raul Jimenez’s involvement with the Mexico national team could deny him a move to a big club, however, given that the travel and time difference could complicate matters pertaining to his Premier League ambitions.
“I cannot possibly think of another reason why he has not been signed by a bigger club – Raul Jimenez is one of the best strikers on offer at the moment and is the most underrated player in the Premier League.”

Tottenham don’t want to be losing Kane any time soon, regardless of who will come in at the other hand.
There’s no doubt that Spurs fans will be open to players being added, alongside Kane, and someone like Jimenez provides that in bucket loads.
But would those in the Hotspur Way boardroom have the ambition to keep Kane and add some serious high-quality options like Jimenez to go along with it?
Well, forget about the Wolves man, there is talk that Tottenham want to sign Danny Ings to play alongside Kane and not replace him this summer.
